THE EVENT - STARTERHACKS 2018

StarterHacks, a hackathon for first-time hackers, is all about learning and harboring a culture of creation and collaboration. 250 of Ontario's students spending a weekend of hacking and ideation. It is an opportunity to gain skills in coding, design, and pitching, and tinker with multiple APIs and hardware.

THE PROBLEM

To apply for internships and working positions, both student designers and developers have to showcase their portfolio their portfolio to their employers. Without opportunities to meet with each other, designers and developers can not create finished personal projects to place on their portfolios.

THE SOLUTION

AXYS is a platform for young designers and developers to connect and work together on personal projects to strengthen their specialities and experience as well as creating intrustry standard works for their portfolios.

REFLECTION

The project presented an opportunity to create a product that can connect both worlds of designer and developer. The team and I had one day to produce a project that lives up to professional standards. While we won the API awards, we were not satisfied with our product due to its unfinished front-end development of specific pages.
